Toni - Queen of Conference

How amazing it was to see Toni Risson win both the Impromptu section and Grand Champion Award for her speaking. We have all seen Toni grow as she has participated in Forum over the last few years. Congratulations also to Sara from Dalby club, People's Choice. The calibre of speaking from clubs all across Brisbane and wider Queensland was a feast to our ears. Can I encourage you, now is the time to join and start learning the art of speaking! This could be you when Conference rolls around in two years time.

    I agree wholeheartedly Jannene - the standard was the best I have witnessed. We shouldn't be amazed though of Toni's success .... our own members certainly get the best opportunity to develop their speaking skills in every possible way at our regular meetings - and Toni has put in her share of effort and fully deserved to take home these much prized Awards.

    What I like best about the awards is that they are framed copies of Forum syllabuses from the 1950s and 1960s, when clubs met in McDonald's Cafe in Edward Street. (Not McDonald's as we now know it I'm guessing). Love anything with a bit of history.
    I'll bring them to next meeting and show you.
