A year of personal firsts – my first time as
President, first time doing formal study and the first time writing on a blog.
Its going to be an exciting 6 months in forum, learning the art
of story-telling the mystery of our personal experiences and others lives.
We had an amazing evening on Tuesday night, treated to hearing 4 speeches given from the heart. They were all winners but congratulations Toni for taking home the trophy and earning the right to represent forum at Conference in September.
Can I encourage you to come along and be part of a "first" in your life. We
would love to hear many more stories that are yet to be told.

Firsts can be very scary things - first day at school, first birth, first public speech.... Well, I had another first today. At a luncheon to celebrate Forum's 72nd birthday I represented our club in the impromptu speaking competition. As if getting out there in front of everyone isn't bad enough, try it without a prepared speech! And only a few seconds to respond to the title/prompt/question. Thanks to the preparation and support I received at our meetings this year, I made it through to the final round.
